I have joined etsy's self portrait thursday group. It's kind of fun and challenging. Sorry, I am not very talkative today. Maybe more tomorrow.

Here are the balloon pictures. I found all of these great baskets at

Jo-Ann. As you can see I would like to make a few balloons. That white blob is another balloon waiting to be painted. The doll I have in the basket is one I carry around attached to my purse. I like her size. I will probably make more like her.

I need to go to Party City to buy netting to go over the top of the balloon. I just love the idea of dolls in balloons or on some kind of swing hanging from the ceiling. I also like the idea of a suitcase being converted into a home for a doll or two. Kind of an extra fancy Barbie case. Anyway it is all fun. I love it.

Working on a Hot Air Balloon

I was so inspired by Dubuhdu Design's hot air balloon for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party that I am trying to make my own. I even e-mailed her about what she (or rather her husband) had done to make it. She e-mailed me back. I was so pleased. I have to search for a basket and I am going to get some fishing net from Party City. They have a lot of colors and even a few different sizes of weave. I will post my progress soon. I've been trying to post photos on my flickr account. It's under http://www.shannonbailes.flickr.com I'm pretty sure that link will work. Have to get my kids to bed. School Begins

Today, was the first day of school. Hooray. Now I can run some errands and clean. Also, I can make more dolls. Yeah!

Experimenting

I changed the top of my blog because I am finally figuring out how the use photoshop. I'll probably change it again because I want it to look really nice. I've added several blog links on my "places I like to visit" list. I also just started a flickr account. It's under Shannonbailes. I don't know if I can change the name to wrayoflight, but I am going to look into that. School starts soon for the kids, and I plan on making some more dolls when that happens. Making more dolls than I have in the last few months that is.
I'm off to make a new banner for my etsy shop.

Look I changed my template.

Yes I changed my template. I like this one better. It feels much warmer and friendlier. Don't you think? I am studying to improve my photoshop skills. I'm learning a lot but I guess I need to figure out how to save my work in a proper manner.
